Our Greater Giving Initiative Recap to Support Nonprofits

In light of this year’s Giving Season, we created a social media campaign, ‘Greater Giving’ to directly showcase the good work of several nonprofit organizations that we work closely with. Our goal was to amplify their Giving Season and end of year campaigns, and to ultimately drive more awareness to their missions. On various Tuesdays and Thursdays in the month of November and December 2022, we showcased our nonprofit clients and their end of year and/or Giving Tuesday efforts to our Instagram and LinkedIn pages. Giving Season is a large focus for nonprofits, many times bringing in the most donations they receive for the year, so we thought it would be a perfect time to help them out! Here is a small selection of the many organizations we supported:

Urban Peak
Urban Peak is the only nonprofit in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth
experiencing homelessness ages 15 to 24. To make the journey from homelessness to safety and
stability, Urban Peak assists youth through intensive services such as strengths-based case management, access to physical, mental, and behavioral health care, education and employment opportunities, 24/7 crisis support and a place to call home. Their mission is to ignite the potential in youth to exit homelessness and create self-determined, fulfilled lives.

NatureServe
NatureServe regards themselves as nature’s tech firm, providing powerful information that helps drive conservation efforts forward. Working off of donations, their organization is able to save critical species and ecosystems from extinction. NatureServe assembles robust data on the location and ecological condition of species and ecosystems collected by biodiversity experts. Their scientists turn those pieces of data into maps, models, and metrics that document and predict distributions, evaluate threats, assess extinction risks, document trends, and identify priority conservation areas. Using cloud technology, integrated applications, and compelling visualizations, they are able to deliver the best available knowledge needed to maintain diverse species and sustain healthy ecosystems.

JA Canada
JA Canada inspires the next generation to realize their potential and make a positive impact in their communities. Through their vast network of local offices, they collaborate with educators, volunteers, and organizations across Canada to deliver hands-on, immersive, and digital learning experiences to young people. JA commits to ensuring accessibility and inclusivity through programs that help youth build transferable skills in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship.

Refugee Women’s Alliance
For 35 years, Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA) has helped immigrant and refugee women, men and children from all over the world create a new, safe, and sustainable life for themselves and their families. Even in our darkest times, ReWA celebrates milestones and brings hope around the world for victims of these tragic circumstances. As fall turns to winter, ReWA’s year-end efforts are crucial to connecting refugees to opportunities in education and employment, counseling services, citizenship classes, youth after-school programs and childhood early learning.

Trans Canada Trail
The Trans Canada Trail is the longest recreational trail in the world, spanning over 28,000 kilometres on land and water. Linking three oceans – the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic – the Trail connects 15,000 rural, urban and Indigenous communities across every province and territory. It is a ribbon that connects Canada’s diverse landscapes, seasons, people and experiences, and fosters unity, collaboration and connectedness. Trans Canada Trail is a registered charity and stewards this national trail in collaboration with local Trail partners.

Evergreen
For over 30 years, Evergreen has been facilitating change in communities through connection, innovation and sustainable actions. Their work always looked to bring people into nature and connect with the community. The iconic Evergreen Brick Works is a great example of how they put this into practice. Nestled in the heart of Toronto’s ravine system, the Brick Works acts as an access point for people using the Belt Line trails. Additionally, the site hosts a year-round weekly Farmers Market, an Artisan and Vintage Markets, and events like Day of the Dead and the Winter Market that bring the community together. In our Children’s Garden, children and adults can learn about land stewardship, local ecology and other sustainability practices on site.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege to collaborate with these amazing organizations and learn about their impactful projects. Despite these nonprofits having varying missions, it was a wonderful experience seeing them all come together for our Greater Giving campaign. We can’t wait to continue to support our nonprofit community next year! To see all 13 organizations that we showcased, visit our Instagram page!
