The word is "Dashboard" - by David Nastrom
When it comes to running your business, the word is "Dashboard".

Think of an automobile. Whether you're imagining your old beater from college, or that new car sitting in your driveway, a dashboard makes sense. Dashboards display your fuel level, current speed, oil temperature and more. It is the conduit through which your vehicle "talks" to you.

When talking about software, we can think of the dashboard as a conduit for your software to deliver a lot of important information to you in a comprehensive and organized fashion.



Using dashboards in the context of Customer Relationship Management, we’re talking about how to effectively deliver pertinent information to you, the user. If you are a sales rep, it may be useful to see a summary of your upcoming appointments, a pie chart representing your win/loss ratio, a bar graph dividing your opportunities into stages or a summary of your current opportunities, with the ability to drill-down into each one.

Dashboards can also deliver information on objects outside of your database, like email, data feeds from the internet or even a company blog.

Handheld Synchronization and ACT! - by Harrison Kroeker
In the last number of years we’ve seen an increase in PDA phone integrated devices. The demand for these devices in the workplace has also increased, and as a result, customers have required their devices to integrate with ACT!

Historically, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Palm have synchronized with ACT! but in recent years the integration has not advanced to keep pace with the changing handheld market. As a result, BelMar has been in search of a tool that would work with any handheld and more importantly, keep advancing as the device market changes moving forward.

We’re happy to announce that CompanionLink now synchronizes with all four handheld manfucturers (BlackBerry Windows Mobile, Palm, and iPhone/iTouch). CompanionLink is available in two versions – Express and Professional. In addition to manual synchronization, CompanionLink offers a wireless synchronization option for both products.
