Customer Experience

Last month I had the pleasure of landing a stand-by seat on a United Airlines flight from Washington, DC to Vancouver, saving myself over two hours in travel. At the same time I was taking off from DC, David Nastrom, one of our consultants, was battling another airline carrier (can you guess who) on an over-weight luggage charge.

Upon returning to the office and comparing travel notes, I started thinking about customer experience and the importance of managing the experience through expectations. Expectations are what we form based on past experience, on a convincing sales presentation, advertising and many other inputs.

My point is that customer experience is easily influenced by predictability and consistency in the product or service that´s being delivered. Let´s face it, the airline experience is the same for the most part across all commercial carriers, so was it consistency that made my experience more enjoyable than David´s?

Whenever I fly, I try to use United Airlines because my experience with them has been very positive and they didn´t disappoint on my trip back from DC. In David´s case Air Canada didn´t charge him for over-weight luggage on the way to DC but they did on the way back, resulting in an inconsistent experience.

At BelMar we strive to provide you with a consistent and predictable experience every time you the customer engage with us. We look forward to providing you with a consistent experience any time you contact us!

The End of XP

Microsoft has announced that June 30, 2008 will be the last day you can purchase a new computer with Microsoft XP. If you have applications that require Microsoft Windows XP, now is a good time to purchase your new computer while you can still get it with XP.

For our ACT! customers using older version of ACT! you should be aware that ACT! 2008 is the only version that runs on Microsoft Vista. If you are running a previous version of ACT! you should consider upgrading to ACT! 2008.
