ACT! Custom Tables
The latest ACT! update (10.02) now allows for the creation of custom tables. This new functionality, which is made available through a free download, enables ACT! users to create new database entities.

Financial advisors are a great example for the use of custom tables. Advisors have struggled with the need for tracking multiple investments for each client, and have been forced to manage this information through the use of multiple fields.

This has presented numerous challenges, mainly the need to have enough fields to match the number of investments. Using custom tables we are now able to create a new tab on the screen that will enable advisors to enter as many investments for the client as needed, without creating new fields.

The benefits of using a custom table in this example are:

• Create infinite number of unique investments without creating new fields
• Organize all investment information on single tab
• Display in table format, similar to notes and history

The following screen shots show an example of what can be created for both the input and the display of custom tables.
